Armenians destroyed more than 54 hectares of forest

"54,328 hectares of forest were destroyed during the Armenian occupation of our lands," Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Firdovsi Aliyev said, Azvision.az reports.

He noted that before the occupation, the forest cover in those areas amounted to 228,794 hectares: "Last year this figure was 174,466.8 hectares."

The Deputy Minister added that the figures were preliminary: "This figure may be higher. Greenery work has been started in the liberated areas. Oriental plane trees have been planted in Fuzuli, Zangilan, Gubadli, Aghdam, oak seeds have been sown. Mulberry seedlings have been planted in Gubadli and Zangilan. People, who will move there in 1-2 years will use it in the development of cocoons.
