Kremlin not to comment on US president’s orders to intelligence agencies

Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov refrained from commenting on US President Joe Biden’s order to intelligence services to carry out a "full assessment" of Russia’s alleged elections meddling, cyberattacks and the Alexey Navalny incident."We cannot comment on the US president’s orders. If he needs some additional information, then, probably, intelligence agencies will have to provide it," Peskov told journalists Friday.

The spokesman recalled that "multiple investigations into the Russian meddling took place, on which a significant amount of taxpayer money was spent."

"As a result, we heard official conclusions that such meddling did not take place," Peskov said. "As for the Afghanistan story, we also heard official statements of US intelligence representatives that this is a fake and that intelligence cannot confirm this."

Previously, White House Spokeswoman Jen Psaki told journalists that Biden ordered intelligence agencies to carry out a full assessment of cyberattacks against SolarWinds, of the alleged Russian meddling in the 2020 elections, as well as its use of "chemical weapons" against Navalny and claims that Afghan militants received bounties for attacking US servicemen.
